The guitar is easy to control the colors and dynamics. The wood selection on this instrument is superb, with a quality of Brazilian rosewood rarely seen today, or ever.

This guitar is a near clone to the top signature model Bernabe guitars and has a rich full meaty quality to the sound, very immediate and colorful. The balance is very even and the basses are focused and firm, well balanced to the brilliant treble. In the concert hall this instrument carries to the furthest back seats effortlessly, and yet would record perfectly with the even quality of its response. Beautiful woods, and beautiful sound.

This 1979 Jose Ramirez 1a is a very fine example of the classic Ramirez 1a with brilliant trebles, thunderous basses and that patented Spanish “Madrid” sound which just sings forever and is seducing to listen to. These instruments are never boring, and while the scales are not for everyone, the sound is something audiences respond to.

This instrument which is braced like the later Marcelo Barbero guitars is fitted with our “Bite-away,” which allows easier access to the upper frets and with the additional soundport in the Bite-away, more volume from the instrument.
