1999 Dominique Delarue No. 207

1999 Dominique Delarue No. 207

1999 Dominique Delarue (France) No. 207, Grand Concert Model, made in his Carpentras shop in Crillon la Brave, France.  650 mm scale, 50 mm nut, strings spaced 41.5 mm on centers between 1st and 6th.  Cedar top, Indian rosewood sides and back, the sides are laminated inside with what appears to be cypress, Sloane/Waverly tuning machines, original french polish of shellac.  Action measures 3.5 mm on the bass side and 3 mm on the treble side at the 12th fret.  Dominque Delarue draws his inspiration from the instruments of Daniel Friederich, and indeed they are very crisp and powerful like a good Friederich, yet also sweet and very responsive, easy to play and with a great range of color and dynamics which can be controlled by the player with very little effort.  This instrument has a minor top ding by the lower treble bout which was repaired by Dominque himself, although the area is now slightly lighter than the rest of the french polish, but the touch up is entirely original Delarue work.  Because of this, the price is considerably below the going rate for new Delarue instruments, so this will be a great value for a professional looking for maximum sound at minimum cost
