M. E. Bruné No. 28
645 mm scale, 51 mm nut, strings spaced 43 mm on center between 1st and 6th, spruce top, highly flamed violin quality European maple sides and back, original french polish of shellac, two clear golpeadores installed on the face, Sloane/Waverly tuning machines. This instrument which is braced like the later Marcelo Barbero guitars is fitted with our “Bite-away,” which allows easier access to the upper frets and with the additional soundport in the Bite-away, more volume from the instrument. The action is low and easy to play, measuring 3 mm on the bass side and 2 mm on the treble side at the 12th fret. The sound is crisp and bright, very direct and immediate, yet the basses are really deep like older Spanish instruments, so it is a guitar with a very wide tone color range which is easy as butter to play and projects really well. Because the sound is so clear, it also works very well with a mic on stage.
