The session dates for the 2006 French Polish classes
are as follows:

This date is a
Thursday, Friday and Saturday in the evening. The class time will be from 6:00 pm
until 9:30 pm.

The class will be conducted in the historic R.E.
Brune Luthier workshop. Topics that will be covered in the course
include surface preparation, various filling methods, an assortment of
sizing techniques, and application of shellac. In addition to the
above, you will be given the opportunity to get hands-on experience with
some of the finest guitars in R. E. Brune’s collection, including:
Santos, Barbero, Reyes, Garcia, Torres, Fleta, and other fine nineteenth
century guitars.

The student will need to provide a few items in
addition to the items I will be providing:

gloves (preferably thin neoprene, or Nitride) |

bath towel |

Small
clean jar with a tight lid, like a baby food jar |

Small
medicine bottle |
 |
Medium-sized work pieces of spruce, cedar, rosewood, and mahogany |
The cost of
the course is $750.00, with a 20% ($150.00) deposit due prior to the
start of the class. The remaining balance is due at the start of
the course.
Lodging
accommodations can be had at a nearby Best Western, which is less than
two blocks away from the shop, as well as less than two blocks away from
the el-train, for a trip into scenic Downtown Chicago. I am currently
working with Best Western to create a reduced nightly price for those
who take the class.
